EVEMASTER Part Ways With LOW FREQUENCY RECORDS
August 15, 2004Finnish "dark metal" band EVEMASTER have parted ways with Low Frequency Records. "The decision was mutual and at least EVE-camp is feeling good about this," reads an official press release. "At the moment EVEMASTER are shopping around for a new deal and the recording of the new album should start spring/summer 2005."
EVEMASTER released their second CD, "Wither", earlier in the year through Crash Music Inc. (via a licensing deal with Low Frequency). The follow-up to 1998's "Lacrimae Mundi" was recorded at Astia Studios (CHILDREN OF BODOM, WARMEN, ENTWINE) with producer Anssi Kippo and features a guest appearance on drums by CHILDREN OF BODOM's Jaska Raatikainen. Also included on the CD was a cover of TAROT's "Wings Of Darkness", with lead vocals courtesy of Marco Hietala (NIGHTWISH, TAROT, ex-SINERGY).
EVEMASTER will issue a re-recorded version of their debut album, re-titled "MMIV Lacrimae Mundi", in late summer/early fall through Rising Realm Records. Drums on "MMIV Lacrimae Mundi" were once again handled by Raatikainen. According to the band, the idea behind the re-recording was to make it "as punk as possible … a lot harsher sounding and heavier than the original version."
